OK Ok ok, so... if you're as hype as I am about Lupe's soon to be dropped album, LASERS, you will also be standing outside your local Circuit City in the wee hours of the morning on December 15th... Its that serious.
Lupe Fiasco, the
#1 most under rated rapper of our generation hands down, has leaked some more info about his final album LASERS ( yea, this is it....). Preconceived notions of album titles have gone from "lupE.N.D", to "WE ARE LASERS", to the most recent, "LASERS" (Lupe's official rep announced the last one so it looks like they're sticking with the simple "LASERS" title). The album has gone through its share of covers as well, but again they seem to be going with the mundane concept. However, in traditional Fiasco form, the inner concept behind the face value of the cover is as abstract and meaningful as you could possibly imagine. Lupe has also been busy popping up at college homecomings (MoreHouse, Temple..) and Chicago venues to give small teasers of the 3 already leaked tracks, and plans on giving us more info about the album at his Remember 2 Smile concert going down this Thursday.
All in all, the mans been busy preparing his final album and it should be dropping pretty soon. Seeing him retire from the game after the drop is crazy to me, but according to his twitter there are still plans for future mixtapes beyond LASERS along with continued collab with CRS, so that's cool. Well, there aint nothing left to say but.... Peace... and much love to ya...

So ill. The song in the background, "Shining Down" featuring Mathew Santos produced by Soundtrackk, is the first FULL LEAK copped by the public. 3 other songs have also leaked (Army Girl, Ladies and Gentlemen, and 2 Ways), but they're only 30 second samples of each. Why they gotta mess with us like that?!
"Solar Midnight", another song from Lupe to be on lasers, is a bonus track to the upcoming movie new moon coming out November 20th
and
The last known song coming from the album called "FIRE" is also out right now. Early October, Lupe released this track in response to his absence on MTV's 2009 "Top 10 Hottest Rappers List," proving that he definitely should have been on it. Like I said before, #1 most underrated MC alive, MTV can't handle it.
